🚓 Bordesley Green Neighbourhood Team Update – What We’ve Been Up To!
Hello everyone,
Here’s a snapshot of what the Bordesley Green Neighbourhood Team has been working on over the last six days whilst on duty. Alongside responding to incidents and supporting ongoing investigations, we’ve continued to focus on tackling local issues, engaging with residents and working closely with our partners to make our neighbourhood a safer place for everyone.
Here’s what we’ve been up to:
🔹 Community Engagement at ASDA – We held a community surgery speaking with residents, offering crime prevention advice and listening to the issues that matter most to you.
🔹 Making a Difference at Ideal Village – We joined residents and partners for a community litter pick, helping to improve the local environment and showing pride in our neighbourhood.
🔹 Ward End Fire Station Open Day – It was great to attend this fantastic community event, meeting local families, answering questions and chatting with residents about policing and community safety.
🔹 Removing Weapons from Our Streets – We recovered and seized a knife that had been found, ensuring it was safely removed from the community.
🔹 Keeping Our Roads Safe – Two untaxed/SORN vehicles were seized, and parking enforcement was carried out where offences were identified to help keep our streets safe and accessible.
🔹 Working Together with Midland Heart – We completed a joint walkabout around Barnesville Close, identifying environmental concerns and discussing solutions to improve the area for residents.
🔹 Saltley Wellbeing Centre Surgery – We continued our community engagement by meeting with residents, providing reassurance, offering crime prevention advice and discussing local concerns.
🔹 High-Visibility Patrols – Our officers have been carrying out proactive patrols across the neighbourhood to deter crime, tackle anti-social behaviour and provide reassurance to those living and working in the area.
🔹 Partnership Working – We met with partner agencies to strengthen our joint approach to tackling local issues, recognising that the best results come from working together.
🔹 Tackling Anti-Social Behaviour – A derelict site that had become a hotspot for anti-social behaviour was secured, helping to reduce opportunities for nuisance and criminality.
🔹 Listening to Our Community – We hosted a residents’ meeting at the Khidmat Centre on Heather Road, where we discussed the concerns being raised locally, listened to your feedback and talked through the work being carried out to address these issues.
Every conversation, piece of information and report from our community helps shape our priorities, so thank you to everyone who has taken the time to speak with us.

Crimes of note: 🔹Criminal damage to a vehicle on Pretoria Road 🔹Attempted Burglary on Eastfield Road 🔹Assault with intent to rob on Coventry Road 🔹Arson on Colonial Road 🔹Theft from shop/stalls on Bordesley Green 🔹Theft of motor vehicle on Heybarnes Road When parking a vehicle on the road, this needs road tax. If you SORN a vehicle this means this vehicle cannot be parked on a road. Double parking makes it difficult for vehicles including emergency vehicles to get down roads whilst on a emergency run, please consider parking your vehicle further out to ensure your vehicle is not causing unnecessary obstruction. Police can issue you with a fine for double parking. Please take consideration of pedestrians, especially with the kids school holidays, make sure that a car is not blocking a whole pavement, restricting pedestrians from safely walking on the path. Police can issue you with a ticket and points if deemed dangerous. With the warm weather now, please ensure that car windows are not left open overnight, ensure that cars are locked and secured before leaving it for the evening, take consideration into faraday pouches for keyless entry to vehicles and make sure no valuables are left on display. When inside your house, please make sure the front door is closed and always secured, leaving this open can result in opportunists looking into your property.
